Nigerian singer and songwriter Lojay has confirmed a major collaboration with Fellow Afrobeats Star Fireboy DML.
During an exclusive interview on on A-T Spaces on March 2, 2025, Lojay revealed the exciting news, describing their collaboration as one built on instant chemistry. The partnership, which is expected to be a full collaborative project, was reportedly sparked by YBNL record label boss, Olamide, who saw the synergy between the two artists and encouraged them to create together.
Lojay shared how they initially recorded up to five songs in one session, adding that the energy was palpable from the start. “It was Olamide that mentioned it… That first day, we probably did like 4-5 songs, and you could tell that there’s chemistry here,” Lojay explained.
While specifics about the project—such as its title and release date—remain under wraps, the collaboration promises to blend the distinct sounds of both artists. Lojay, known for his smooth fusion of Afrobeat, R&B, and electronic influences, alongside Fireboy DML’s heartfelt lyricism and Afrobeats flair, is expected to produce a body of work that pushes the boundaries of the genre.
