Afrobeats’ rising star Kaestyle is making a bold statement with his latest release, Rookies Don’t Sound This Good, a three-track EP that showcases his musical evolution and resilience in the face of challenges. Following his recent outing at the 17th Headies, where he was nominated for the highly coveted Rookie of the Year award but did not win, Kaestyle’s new project serves as a triumphant declaration of his artistry and ambition.

The EP opens with Chineke, a breezy track featuring emerging talent Starsamm. Kaestyle confesses his overwhelming feelings for a love interest, weaving a narrative so intense that only divine intervention—Chineke (God in Igbo)—can save him. The track’s light, melodic vibe sets a relaxed tone, showcasing Kaestyle’s ability to blend emotional depth with infectious rhythms.

The energy continues in “How Much,” where he opens up emotionally, exploring the fine line between desire, temptation, and affection, all while delivering catchy, party-ready production that highlights his hitmaking ability.

The EP wraps up with “a.o.m.g (Ahead of My Game),” where he reflects on his journey from humble beginnings, asserting his growth and purpose with sharp lyrics and a calm confidence.

Kaestyle’s evolution as an artist is evident in this project. Drawing from influences like 2Baba, Drake, and Wande Coal, his ability to rap and sing with equal prowess is showcased throughout the EP. The cohesive sound reflects his Rivers State roots and global ambitions, positioning him as a force in Afrobeats with a sound that defies his rookie status.

The release of Rookies Don’t Sound This Good aligns with Kaestyle’s recognition as an Apple Music artist to watch in 2025, reinforcing his trajectory toward mainstream success while staying true to his innovative style.
