Renowned Jamaican Dancehall icon Garfield Delano Spence, known as Konshens, has teased his upcoming return to the vibrant Pearl Of Africa. The Grammy-nominated artist recently hinted at his visit via Twitter, posting the cryptic message “Tujja Tujja” (translated as “We Are Coming”) alongside two Ugandan flags.
The tweet swiftly reverberated across Ugandan online communities, sparking excitement among fans, including Azawi, his recent collaborator on the chart-topping track “Summer Bae.”
Konshens’ impending visit has stirred speculation about the purpose of his trip. There are talks of a potential headline performance at the upcoming Blankets And Wine festival and swirling rumors about a spectacular New Year’s Eve event.
No stranger to Ugandan stages, Konshens previously graced the country in 2015 at Lugogo Cricket Oval, sharing the spotlight with Busy Signal.
In a recent statement, the 38-year-old artist confirmed his performance in Uganda scheduled for December 17, emphasizing his eagerness to also visit Kenya during this tour.
Expressing his sentiments via Twitter, Konshens affirmed, “For your information, there’s no way I’m coming to Uganda, which I love and miss, without stopping in Kenya, which I love, even if it’s just for a holiday vibe.”
Furthermore, Konshens reached out to Kenyans for suggestions on notable places to explore during his visit.
The Dancehall and Reggae sensation holds a significant presence and popularity in Kenya, having previously embarked on multiple tours over the years. His affection for the country is palpable, evident in his frequent visits, with his last tour taking place in December 2021.
