Grammy Buzz: Nigerian Artists Submit Projects for 2025 Awards—Burna Boy, Rema, Tems & More in the Race

With the 2025 Grammy Awards fast approaching, Nigerian music heavyweights have submitted their projects for consideration, showcasing the country’s growing influence on the global stage. Artists like Rema, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Tems, and Asake are in the running for various categories including Best Global Music Album, Song of the Year, and Best African Music Performance.

The Nigerian music industry has increasingly gained recognition at the Grammys. This year, submissions from prominent Afrobeats stars are fueling excitement as fans await the official nominations list, set to be announced in November 2024. Burna Boy, who won a Grammy in 2021, is again among the key contenders, with tracks like “Higher” and “We Pray” being submitted for major categories like Recording of the Year and Song of the Year.

Some of the  Submissions are as follows:
– Rema: “Benin Boys” and HEIS submitted for Song of the Year and Album of the Year.
– Tems: Submissions include Born in the Wild for Album of the Year.
– Ayra Starr: “Commas” and The Year I Turned 21 are also in the mix for major awards.
– Asake: His collaboration “MMS” with Wizkid is up for Best African Music Performance.

This year’s Grammy season continues the narrative of Nigerian music’s growing global presence, with more submissions than ever before.
