Afrobeats megastar Davido is set to release his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, on April 18, 2025. Following the success of his previous albums, including the Grammy-nominated Timeless, this new project promises to showcase his growth as an artist and his commitment to pushing musical boundaries.
Taking to his Instagram page on Monday, April 14, 2025, Davido shared a snippet from the album alongside the album’s tracklist containing 17 tracks and a full list of featured collaborators. Accompanying the post, Davido wrote: “Legacy is not what you leave behind, but what you breathe into the future. 72 hours away! Thank you for the love & support.”
The album has already generated excitement with the release of singles like “Be there still” “Awuke” featuring YG Marley and “Funds” featuring OdumoduBlvck and Chike. These tracks have been well-received, giving fans a glimpse into the diverse sounds and collaborations featured on the album. Other artists featured on the album include Omah Lay, Victony, OdumoduBlvck, Chike, American R&B singer Chris Brown, Jamaican artists Shenseea and 450, Latin pop star Becky G, South African amapiano sensation Musa Keys, and French artists Dadju and Tay C.
In an interview, Davido revealed that he took a hands-on approach to the production of 5ive, stating that he “did a lot of co-production” on the album. This marks a return to his roots, as he was involved in the production of his debut single “Back When” featuring Naeto C. This involvement in the creative process underscores his dedication to delivering a project that is both personal and innovative.
With 5ive, Davido continues to solidify his position as a leading figure in the global music scene. The album’s blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and soul, coupled with its impressive lineup of collaborators, makes it one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. Fans can look forward to an album that not only showcases Davido’s musical evolution but also celebrates the rich diversity of global music.
