Nigerian Artist, Davido has  moved back his upcoming album 5ive by a month. The album originally slated for a March 14, 2025 release, will now debut on April 18, 2025.

While no official statement has been made about the postponement by the artist or his team, the updated release date was first noticed on Apple Music, which confirmed that the album now carries an April 18 release.

The news has raised questions about whether the delay is due to production issues, additional collaborations, or just a strategic move in the face of intense competition from other major artists releasing projects at the same time.

This announcement has left many of his fans disappointed, especially considering the intense buzz surrounding the album ever since its initial announcement. However, the anticipation that has built up since Davido began teasing the album, especially with the release of two singles ‘Awuke’ featuring Jamaican Dancehall sensation YG Marley and ‘Funds’ featuring Chike and OdumoduBlvck is keeping fans more eager to see how his new sounds will push the boundaries of Afrobeat music.

One thing is certain—when 5ive finally drops, it’s bound to make waves in the global music scene, continuing Davido’s journey of international success. The delay may have disappointed some, but it only heightens expectations for what is to come. For now, fans will have to mark their calendars and count down the days to April 18, 2025.
