Cina Soul Unveils Debut Album ‘Did I Lie?’—A Bold Assertion of Her Musical Prowess

Ghanaian singer-songwriter Cina Soul has officially released her debut album, Did I Lie?, a 12-track project that not only showcases her exceptional vocal talent but also solidifies her position in the music industry.

Cina Soul has been a prominent figure in the Ghanaian music scene since 2014. She gained significant attention as a finalist in the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Icons competition. Her musical style is a fusion of highlife, Afro-pop, neo-soul, and jazz, reflecting a diverse and rich musical heritage. ​

The Album, Did I Lie? released on March 14, 2025 is a culmination of years of dedication and personal growth. Cina Soul embarked on this project after a meticulous two-and-a-half-year process, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and self-expression. She explained that the title reflects her confidence in her abilities, stating, “I didn’t lie about my talent, my song writing, my vocal ability, or my versatility.” ​

In an interview with Joy Prime, she admitted that the process was exhausting. “I don’t know how people create albums every year. It took me almost two and a half years to make this one. Recording so many songs and shortlisting them to 10 or 12 was tough. Everyone
had opinions—my team, marketing experts, but I had to follow my heart.”

Cina Soul also spoke on the challenges of collaborating with songwriters, she noted that it was uncomfortable at first as she has always written her own songs, but allowed herself to work with songwriters on the project.
