Afrobeats powerhouse Tiwa Savage is making her long-awaited return with a brand-new album, This One Is Personal, officially slated for release on August 29, 2025. The album marks Savage’s first full-length studio project since Celia (2020).
With a five-year gap since her last album, fans and industry insiders are buzzing with anticipation, and from the sound of early singles, Savage is about to deliver her most intimate and reflective project yet.
According to Tiwa herself, This One Is Personal draws heavily from her personal experiences over the last two years. In interviews and social media posts, the Nigerian singer has described the songwriting process as a form of emotional release, a way to “pour out her heart.”
Unlike her past works, which often spotlighted empowerment and celebration, this album leans into vulnerability. The soundscape fuses her signature Afrobeats style with lush R&B influences, offering a deeper dive into themes of love, loss, growth, and self-reflection.
The rollout has already featured two standout singles, “On the Low” ft. Skepta, and “You4Me”, released earlier this year. They both have set the tone for the album’s emotive style and storytelling depth.
Tiwa Savage’s fanbase, known for its devotion and reach across Africa, the UK, and North America, has waited five years for a follow-up to Celia. The announcement of the August 29 release has sparked widespread excitement across social media, with critics predicting that this could be her most critically and commercially significant release yet.
Given her recent public reflections, hinting at emotional exhaustion and even suggesting that this might be her last full studio album, This One Is Personal could serve not just as a musical milestone but as a potential closing chapter to an era of her artistry.
Mark your calendar: August 29, 2025. This is more than music, it’s personal.
