Nigerian rap powerhouse Olamide has officially released his highly anticipated self-titled album, Olamidé, marking his 11th solo studio project and one of the most star-studded in his storied discography.

Dropped today, June 19, 2025, via YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution, the album packs 17 tracks, featuring collaborations with Afrobeats heavyweights like Wizkid, Asake, Seyi Vibez, Popcaan, BOJ, and even an appearance from global legend Dr. Dre

Originally slated for June 3, the album’s release date was postponed: first moved to June 9, and finally delivered on June 19. The lead single, “Kai!”, was released on April 28, 2025. Produced by Eskeez and Semzi, the upbeat, flirtatious afrobeats track pairs Olamide’s magnetic flow with Wizkid’s signature melody. It has already made waves — landing in Nigeria’s Top 10 charts and peaking at #10 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.

Choosing to self-title this album signals a milestone—suggesting a deeper, more introspective journey into Olamide’s artistic identity, akin to personal statements made through his past works.

Olamide’s trajectory—from street-inspired rap on early albums like Rapsodi and YBNL to genre-blurring growth in UY Scuti (2021), Unruly (2023), and the genre-defying Ikigai EP (2024)—is well-documented. With Olamidé, he presents a refined mélange of introspection, swagger, and cross-genre bravado.

Olamidé isn’t just another album — it’s a statement. By naming it after himself and backing it with a wide array of collaborators, Olamide reasserts his position as the “voice of the street” and a global Afrobeats ambassador. With his signature hustle, lyrical depth, and genre-blending prowess, it’s clear: this self-titled project was engineered to resonate on both local and international stages.
