Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has officially confirmed the release date for his highly anticipated album, No Excuses.

The new body of work is set to drop on Friday, August 22, 2025, marking his fourth studio album. Ahead of the album, Blaqbones has released two high-energy tracks, “W for Wetego”, a catchy joint effort with Young Jonn and Phyno, “Follow Her” featuring Kizz Daniel.

While the official tracklist and features have not yet been revealed, expectations are high. Based on recent trends in his music, fans can anticipate a blend of punchy rap verses, catchy Afrobeats hooks, experimental production styles and reflective and humorous storytelling.

Blaqbonez has built a reputation for pushing boundaries in Nigerian music. Known for his witty lyricism, genre-bending sounds, and bold self-branding as the “Best Rapper in Africa”, and has remained a prominent figure in the evolution of African hip-hop.

His 2021 debut, Sex Over Love, introduced audiences to a playful yet poignant voice in the rap game. The follow-up, Young Preacher (2022), earned critical acclaim and topped charts, cementing Blaqbonez as a commercial and artistic force. Emeka Must Shine (2023) continued the trend, showcasing an eclectic blend of drill, alté, Afrobeats, R&B, and dancehall, and featuring heavyweight collaborations with the likes of Ludacris, Victony, Young Jonn, and Black Sherif.

As Nigerian hip-hop continues to evolve and integrate with global sounds, artists like Blaqbonez play a key role in pushing the genre’s creative boundaries. His ability to balance commercial appeal with artistic integrity sets him apart in a competitive landscape.

With just a few weeks to go, the countdown has officially begun. As fans await more teasers, visuals, and possibly a surprise single or two, one thing is clear: Blaqbonez isn’t making any excuses in 2025.
