Adobe continues to revolutionize the world of creative work with its latest announcement of AI-powered video editing tools. These innovations, which include significant updates to its Firefly platform, are expected to make waves when they roll out in beta later this year. Here’s a breakdown of what’s coming and how it could reshape the way creators work with video.
Initially launched in March as a generative AI tool for text and image creation, Adobe’s Firefly platform is now expanding to support video content. In a recent Adobe Max Sneak Peek, the company showcased the immense potential of Firefly for video. For example, editors will soon be able to generate unique backgrounds or add specific effects without needing extensive manual adjustments. This promises to significantly reduce the time it takes to produce high-quality video content.
In addition to Firefly, Adobe previewed a range of other AI tools designed to enhance video production. Two key projects—Project Fast Fill and Project Res-Up—are set to make video editing easier than ever.
Project Fast Fill
This tool is designed to remove unwanted objects from videos seamlessly. Imagine a scenario where an unexpected object or person enters your frame; instead of painstakingly editing frame by frame, Fast Fill allows you to remove it in seconds.
Project Res-Up
Aimed at improving video resolution, Res-Up enables editors to upscale low-quality footage. With this tool, older or poorly shot footage can be enhanced with sharper details and more clarity.
These tools will be integrated into Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with plans to incorporate them across other Adobe Creative Cloud applications later this year.
