He wrote, “God bless you, @official2baba! 20 years ago, you dropped a project that’s undeniably the blueprint for Afrobeats. Your timeless artistry and influence continue to inspire generations of musicians and fans alike.”

Released on May 15, 2003, Face2Face marked 2Baba’s debut solo venture following his departure from the renowned boy band, Plantashun Boiz. The album, launched under the Kennis Music label, featured standout tracks like Nfana Ibaga and the unforgettable African Queen, which transcended borders, leaving an indelible mark on the Nigerian and African music scenes.

Widely regarded by music enthusiasts as a cornerstone of debut albums within the Afrobeats genre, Face2Face remains evidence of 2Baba’s unparalleled artistry and his significant contribution to the evolution of Nigerian music.
