Nigeria Tops African Charts on Shazam’s Global Top 200: What You Need to Know

Apple Music recently revealed that Nigeria emerged as the leading African country on Shazam’s Global Top 200 chart between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, recording more entries than any other African nation.

In that 12-month span, over 200 artists from the African continent made appearances on the Shazam Global Top 200 chart, and 12 African tracks climbed into the Global Top 10, a historic high. Three songs reached the coveted No. 1 spot, including ‘Shake It To The Max (FLY) [Remix]’ by MOLIY, Silent Addy, Skillibeng & Shenseea; ‘My Darling’ by Chella, and ‘Biri Marung’  (feat. Sje Konka, Focalistic, DJ Maphorisa, Scotts Maphuma & CowBoii)” by Mr Pilato, Ego Slimflow & Tebogo G Mashego.

Nigeria recorded more charting entries than any other African country. Notable Nigerian tracks that crackled on the Global Top 10 include:
