Nigerian Afrobeats star BNXN has dropped his highly anticipated sophomore album, Captain, released on July 3, 2025.

This 16‑track project marks a bold evolution in the 27‑year‑old artist’s career, blending introspection, sonic experimentation, and globally minded ambition. He also enlists a lineup of heavyweights including Rema, Seyi Vibez, Victony and Fola to enrich this musical journey.

Drawing from a childhood moniker that symbolized leadership, Captain isn’t just a title, it’s a brand of confidence. BNXN leads listeners through his personal odyssey, navigating challenges and triumphs with emotional depth. “This album represents who I am right now…and it’s the most honest I’ve ever been,” he shares.

From the emotional bravado of “Phenomena” to the R&B‑flavored drill of “Cutesy” and the Afro‑drill bounce of “Eleyi,” Captain weaves through genres with finesse. The album balances rhythmic energy with heartfelt storytelling, closing with the spiritually charged “In Jesus Name.” The production credit roster reads like a who’s who of Afrobeats beatmakers: Kel‑P, Vampire Craze, BlaiseBeatz, Rymez, Synx, Gemini Major, and more.

To support the album, BNXN is embarking on the Captain North American Tour this August–September, with shows spanning Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Montreal, Vancouver, and Edmonton. This strategic move underscores his intent to solidify an international presence.

Captain positions BNXN as both storyteller and trailblazer, rooted in Nigerian Afrobeats, yet navigating global tides. This album isn’t just a follow-up; it’s a declaration of artistic autonomy, emotional nuance, and international reach. For fans and critics alike, it’s proof that BNXN is steering his music into new, uncharted territories.
