Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Wizkid has announced the cancellation of several major U.S. dates on his highly anticipated ‘Morayo’ tour. The affected concerts include:

  • June 5: Atlanta, GA – State Farm Arena

  • June 7: New York, NY – Madison Square Garden

  • June 19: Houston, TX – Toyota Center

An official statement from Wizkid’s team has yet to provide details regarding the cancellations or potential rescheduling.

Despite the setbacks in the U.S., the European leg of the ‘Morayo’ tour is scheduled to proceed as planned. The tour will commence on May 21 at the Velodrome Arena in Berlin, Germany, followed by performances in Rotterdam and Paris.

Released on November 22, 2024, ‘Morayo’ is Wizkid’s sixth studio album, named after his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun. The album features collaborations with artists like Asake, Brent Faiyaz, Jazmine Sullivan, Anaïs, and Tiakola. It has achieved significant success, including occupying all top 16 spots on Apple Music’s Nigerian chart for eight consecutive days.

The cancellations have sparked discussions among fans and industry observers. Some fans express disappointment over the changes, while others question the choice of smaller venues for the tour. Despite the mixed reactions, many are hopeful that the European leg will proceed without further issues.
