Nigerian singer Adedamola Adefolahan, widely known as Fireboy DML, has opened up about the strain his tattoos have placed on his relationship with his father. In a recent appearance on the 90s Baby Show, Fireboy revealed that his father is deeply disappointed by his body art, to the extent that he considers it unforgivable.

Discussing the impact of his tattoos, Fireboy shared that he often wears a jalabiya, a traditional Middle Eastern garment, to cover them whenever his father visits. He explained, “Whenever he comes to visit, I make sure I’m wearing a jalabiya, fully covered. Because tattoos, they break his heart every time he sees them.”

Interestingly, while his father disapproves of his tattoos, he has no issue with Fireboy’s piercings. Fireboy mused, “My dad doesn’t have a problem with my piercing but these tattoos? He will never forgive me for these things.”

For Fireboy, tattoos are more than just ink; they are a form of personal expression and art. He stated, “Even if I ended up as a banker, I would still have tattoos. It’s not even about being a musician for me. I see tattoos as a form of art.”

This revelation sheds light on the complexities of family dynamics, especially when personal choices clash with traditional values. Despite his father’s disapproval, Fireboy continues to embrace his passion for tattoos, highlighting the challenges many face in balancing personal identity with family expectations.
