Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has recently addressed comments regarding his fashion choices, saying he doesn’t understand why some people would attack him for the way he chooses to present himself publicly.

He remarked that he doesn’t usually engage with negative comments about his fashion or music, and the discourse surrounding the criticism was insignificant to him, stating, “The kind of attention to give that thing, I do not have. It’s pretty irrelevant in my world.

According to Black Sherif, “Everybody dresses how they want to dress. And I don’t get why someone wouldn’t allow me to dress how I want to dress. It doesn’t make sense to a mind that thinks right…So, it’s not relevant to me,” he said.

Black Sherif has not only made waves with his distinctive sound, blending Afrobeat, trap, and highlife, but also with his unique approach to fashion. His style is characterized by oversized clothing, streetwear influences, and a blend of contemporary and traditional aesthetics. Often seen sporting baggy pants, hoodies, and statement accessories, Black Sherif’s wardrobe speaks to his authenticity and his ability to merge comfort with creativity. His fashion choices reflect his personality—unapologetically bold and individualistic.

He often incorporates local Ghanaian fashion elements into his outfits, giving them a modern twist, while also drawing from global streetwear trends. This fusion of styles has earned him attention, with fans and fashion critics alike recognizing his ability to express his identity through his attire. Whether on stage performing his hit songs or simply in public, Black Sherif’s fashion sense has become a signature part of his public persona, reinforcing his status as an artist who is not afraid to stand out, both musically and stylistically. His approach to dressing has made him a style icon for many young people, particularly in Ghana and across Africa.
